Breaking Convention Freestyle Funk Forum 2022

A fringe highlight of Breakin’ Convention, the annual international festival of hip hop dance theatre at Sadler’s Wells, Freestyle Funk Forum is an improvised hour-long entertainment show that sees itself as hip hop’s answer to “Whose Line Is It Anyway?”

A series of skits are brought to life through the elements of hip hop including dance, beatbox (this year delivered by Lakeisha Lynch-Stevens), turntablism and rap. Broken up into several structured freestyle vignettes where the audience decides the outcome of the performances by shouting out suggestions, no show is ever the same.
